How To Reach Spice Souk

The Dubai Spice Souk is located exactly next to the Gold Souk. Stepping into the Spice Souk feels like entering Dubai’s past while enjoying the flavours of the New Dubai. Here’s how you can get to the Spice Souk:

  • By Dubai Metro: Getting to the Spice Souk is easy, especially using the Dubai Metro. This is the cheapest and most convenient way to reach Deira.  Just take the Green Line on the Dubai Metro to the Al Ras Metro Station. From there, your destination is within walking distance.
  • By Taxi/Car: If you have your own car, then type ‘26 34th Street, Deira, Dubai' on Google Maps and follow the directions suggested by Google. Dubai Spice Souk is located right next to the Gold Souk, so it is easy to find.  Note that parking at this place is limited as this area is always busy.
  • By Abra: This is the fun park for exploring the Spice Souk. The Arab is a traditional boat that can be used to reach the souk. It is also highly affordable, costing around AED 1 per person. The Abras are available daily and play an important part in Dubai’s culture. The ride might seem short, but it will add a special charm to your visit.

Best Time To Visit Spice Souk

The Spice Souk is open throughout the year, but the best time to visit is between January and March. The Dubai Shopping Festival is held in January, making the souk even more vibrant. The weather during these months is usually cooler and pleasant for outdoor activities. You can walk around the narrow lanes of Spice Souk without worrying about the climate.
Consider visiting early morning or late evening to avoid the blazing sun. No wonder the Dubai Spice Souk is busy, but early morning is quieter. Most importantly, you will get to see the fresh arrivals of spices by visiting it in the morning. Drop the plan of visiting it in the afternoon, as many shops remain closed from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM from Saturday to Thursday. So, plan your itinerary wisely to avoid any disappointment.
